Jessica LaShawn
Website & Digital Experience Design

The websites I've built — and the one you need next.

Schools, academies, youth programs, mentors, teachers, and small businesses. Real properties, real budgets, real growth plans. Look through the work, then let's talk about yours.

The Portfolio

Sites I've designed, structured, and shipped.

Search by name, audience, or what the site had to do.

Jessica LaShawn Consulting

jessicalashawn.com

An editorial consulting practice site built as a working business asset — a newsroom, a service catalog, intake forms, quizzes, scheduling, and a client portal in one system.

  • Editorial homepage that leads with reporting, not a sales pitch
  • Service pages with diagnostic quizzes and tailored intake forms
  • Booking + paid consultation scheduling wired to a CRM
  • Secure client portal for intake review
Built for
Founders, schools, nonprofits, and corporate partners
My role
Strategy, structure, copy direction, design, build

One place that explains the work, qualifies the inquiry, and books the conversation.

Education

Mogul Academy

mogulacademy.org

The institutional home for a youth entrepreneurship and business-literacy academy — designed to hold credibility with schools, funders, and families at the same time.

  • Program overview structured for funders and school partners
  • Enrollment and interest pathways for families
  • Curriculum and outcomes language that survives a grant review
Built for
Schools, funders, districts, and families
My role
Brand positioning, site architecture, build

A nonprofit presence that reads as an institution, not a flyer.

Youth & Family

Mogul Kids

mogulkids.com

A warmer, younger-facing extension of the Mogul ecosystem, written so a fourth grader is excited and a parent is convinced in the same scroll.

  • Dual-audience messaging (kids and caregivers)
  • Simple, high-clarity navigation for parents on a phone
  • Sign-up flow tied to the academy's program calendar
Built for
Students, parents, and after-school partners
My role
Brand extension, site design, build

Two audiences served on one site without either being talked down to.

Education

Rosa J. Young School

rosajyoungschool.com

A school website built around what families actually search for — admissions, calendar, faith and academic identity, and how to reach a real human being.

  • Admissions and inquiry pathway front and center
  • Family-first information architecture
  • Mobile-first layout for parents, not desktop reviewers
Built for
Prospective families, current families, and school staff
My role
Site structure, content organization, build

Fewer phone calls asking questions the site should have answered.

Youth & Family

AAA Academy for Children

aaaacademyforchildren.org

An early-childhood and youth academy presence designed for trust — licensing, safety, staff, curriculum, and enrollment answered before a parent has to ask.

  • Trust-building structure (staff, safety, daily rhythm, curriculum)
  • Enrollment and tour request pathway
  • Clear program tiers by age group
Built for
Parents, guardians, and community referral partners
My role
Positioning, site design, build

Parents can decide it's the right place before they ever call.

Small Business

Vinson Financial

vinsonfts.com

A financial-services brand presence built for credibility: plain-language service explanations, consultation booking, and compliance-aware copy that still sounds human.

  • Service explanations written for everyday clients
  • Consultation booking as the single primary action
  • Credibility and trust framing for a money-adjacent business
Built for
Individuals, families, and small business owners
My role
Brand and web presence consulting

A small financial practice that looks and functions like an established firm.

Community & Media

It's Earaina

itsearaina.com

A community and media-forward brand property built to hold content, audience, and future monetization without a rebuild every time the vision grows.

  • Content-first architecture that scales with output
  • Audience capture built in from day one
  • Room for events, media, and commerce later
Built for
Creators, community members, and brand partners
My role
Concept, brand direction, site build

A platform that grows with the idea instead of capping it.

Small Business

  • Editorial-first homepage that leads with perspective
  • Content and audience capture built in from day one
  • Flexible layout for future events, media, and commerce
Built for
Followers, collaborators, and brand partners

Why Me

I speak both languages.

The technical one, and the everyday one you actually live in.

Most people building educational brands and multigenerational community businesses aren't stuck because they lack vision. They're stuck because nobody has ever told them what their options are — what things really cost, what can wait, and what will box them in later.

I've sat in the classroom, in the program room, and in the boardroom. I know what a school needs for enrollment, what a mentor needs to look legitimate, what a teacher needs on a tight budget, and what a small business needs to get paid. Then I go build it.

You will never leave a conversation with me confused about what you're buying or why.

Your Vision vs. Your Budget

Four honest starting points — and how each one grows.

Ranges are directional. Real scope and pricing get set in the consultation, in writing, before anything is built.

01

The Foundation

Entry-level starting range

You need to exist online, credibly, right now. A mentor, teacher, new business, or brand-new program.

  • One-to-three page presence that says what you do in thirty seconds
  • One clear action: call, book, apply, or inquire
  • Domain, hosting, and email set up correctly the first time
  • Mobile-first, so the phone experience is the real experience

Grows intoAdds pages, a blog, and booking without starting over.

02

The Working Site

Mid-range project

You're serving people already and the site has to do labor — enroll, book, collect, follow up.

  • Full site structured around the visitor's journey, not your org chart
  • Forms and intake that capture what you actually need to know
  • Scheduling, email follow-up, and lead tracking connected
  • Content system so you can publish without calling a developer

Grows intoPayments, portals, and program-specific microsites.

03

The Institution

Program-level engagement

Schools, academies, nonprofits, and multi-program organizations that funders and districts evaluate.

  • Multi-audience architecture (families, funders, partners, staff)
  • Program, curriculum, and outcomes pages that survive review
  • Applications, enrollment, and document workflows
  • Governance basics: accessibility, privacy, and clean handoff docs

Grows intoAdditional campuses, programs, and partner-facing portals.

04

The Platform

Phased build

You're building something that has to hold members, content, commerce, or data long term.

  • Logins, member areas, and role-based access
  • Payments, subscriptions, or ticketed programming
  • Dashboards and reporting for the people who ask you for numbers
  • A phase plan so you build in affordable stages

Grows intoWhatever you named in the five-year plan.

How It Works

From your vision to a site that carries it.

01

Sit down and say it plain

You tell me what you're building, who it's for, and what your budget actually is. No performance. I don't need you to know the technical words.

02

I translate it

I tell you what your options are — the free version, the affordable version, the built-to-scale version — and what each one costs you in money, time, and ceiling.

03

We pick the version that fits today

We build for the goal you have now, structured so the goal you have in three years doesn't require a rebuild.

04

Build, launch, and teach you to drive it

You get a site that works and the training to run it. I'd rather you not need me every time you add a page.

Questions People Actually Ask

Before you book.

I don't know any of the technical language. Is that a problem?

No. That's the job. I speak both languages — the technical one and the everyday one. You describe the need; I'll name the options and the trade-offs in plain English.

What if my budget is small right now?

Then we build the version your budget supports, structured so it grows. A small first phase done correctly beats a big site you can't finish or maintain.

Do you only build for schools and nonprofits?

No. Schools, academies, youth programs, mentors, teachers, and small businesses are where I'm strongest, but the work is the same: clarity, credibility, and a site that produces something.

Can you fix or take over a site I already have?

Often, yes. Sometimes a strategic refresh — new structure, positioning, and conversion paths — is smarter and cheaper than a rebuild. I'll tell you honestly which one you need.

Will I be able to update it myself?

Yes. Handoff includes training and documentation. Ownership of your domain, content, and accounts stays with you.

How do we start?

Book a 30-minute Flash Mentoring session for quick direction, book a paid strategy session for a serious build, or send a website inquiry and I'll respond personally with next steps.
